Passion Week: Saturday

Jesus body is now in the borrowed grave of a man named Joseph.
Being the Sabbath, very little would be allowed to take place.
But the enemies of Jesus were planning to make the sure the tomb was guarded.
Ironic, that the enemies of Jesus remembered that Jesus had said he would rise from the dead on the third day, but His followers did not.
Jesus followers were no scattered, scared, and mourning.
If Friday was the storm, Saturday was the darkness that followed the storm…but Sunday was coming.
Many of us endure times of darkness.
Days of sorrow and grief, of depression and despair.
Days where the shock of the events begin to wear off and we are left with the stark feeling of shadow and hopelessness. Just as Jesus followers must have felt.
Saturday of Passion week is a reminder, that man’s plans rarely work out the way we think, but God’s plans are perfect and will, in His time be fulfilled.
Saturday of Passion week reminds us that God, and His Son Jesus, understand our grief, because they have been through it.
But Saturday of Passion week also serves as reminder, that the story is not over.
Your Story is not over.
Jesus story seemed like it was dead and done, just as your story may feel like it has reached an Impasse of darkness that cannot be breached and there is no light.
But Sunday is coming.
It may seem like there is a massive stone in the way, blocking your way out. That there are guards protecting the door and there is no way of escape.
But Sunday is coming.
If you are in such a time, then I would remind you of what the disciples and followers should have remembered.
The Words and Promises of Jesus.
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes.
He will not allow you to be tested beyond that you are able. But will make a way of escape.
Believer that is for you and me.
It may seem like your hopes and dreams, even your life and purpose is over…
But Sunday is coming. Hold on to the LIGHT of the world until He sends the light to illuminate the way.
Just as the light illuminated an empty tomb.
It may be dark now…but Sunday is coming…
