Passion Week: Friday

On Friday, after a long not of mock trials, Jesus was mocked and then beaten nearly to death.
Judas mah have betrayed him.
Peter may have denied him.
The crowds called for Jesus to be crucified
Pontious Pilate washed his hands of any guilt and then handed him over to be crucified.
The Jewish leadership may have incited the Jewish people to call for Barabus to be released and Jesus Crucified.
Pilate may have handed him over.
The Romans may have been the ones to drive spikes in his hands and feet, and hung him on the cross.
But it was the sins of you and I and all who have ever lived or will live that put him on the cross.
It was the the master plan of the true God of the universe to send His sinless Son as the Perfect lamb of sacrifice to satisfy the sin debt of the whole world.
Jesus willingly gave his life as ransom for any who would repent of sin and believe in the work of the cross for the only way to a restored relationship with the Father and eternal life in Heaven.
Yes it was the darkest day in the History of the world.
But it was also the Day that our hope of Salvation was made real.
It was Friday…but Sunday was coming.
Thank God for His sacrifice.
Dark days come…but the Son has risen., and with that truth there light and hope to be found.
