A Word from the Word: Page 4

When we turn to God and put our trust in Him, we learn that there really is no reason to worry or be anxious for any reason.

Our God of both creation and Salvation is able hear our prayer and supply our needs.

But there are times, because we are human, that we struggle in our faith. Our eyes see the wind and the waves of life, or the giant that is blocking our path, and we forget that our God is bigger than any of our troubles.

When we fail in our faith, or the devil tempts us to doubt in our God’s ability to meet our every need, we must confess it as sin to God, just as we see David do in this Psalm.

But in this Psalm we also find encouragement in the fact that we are not alone in moments of failing faith. David recounts his own anguish and languishing faith before the Lord and asked for mercy in his confession.

There is also encouragment to find in this Psalm as we read that God does show mercy and grace to David, as David lives to write another Psalm.

But also we find that when David confesses his struggles to the Lord, the Lord strengthens David, thus meeting his greatest need…a renewed strength of faith in His God and peace that accompanies that faith.

By the end of the chapter we find David’s confidence in the Lord restored determination that the Lord had heard his cry, and would grant him victory over the very enemies that caused his consternation.

Take heart Christian! Like David we too will find that when we turn to God in confession and dependence, we will find a loving and merciful God who hear’s our prayers and is able to meet our every need.

Including and most importantly a revived confidence In Him!

We are ordinary everyday people forming a  simple country church.  We believe in Salvation through Jesus Christ alone, that the Bible is the perfect Inspired Word of God, that Jesus is coming one day to claim his people, and that we should live for Him as best we can (by His strength) while loving others and telling them of His love until He comes again.

We invite you join us as our guest, worship with us, grow with us, and serve with us.
